Meet Dr. Cahoon

R. Scott Cahoon, DDS

Dr. Cahoon was born and raised in Yakima, Washington. He came to the University of Washington on a wrestling scholarship where he did his undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Washington Dental School in 1976.

After graduating from the UW Dental School, he spent 2 years practicing general and periodontal dentistry in the United States Navy Dental Corps in the San Francisco bay area and finished his service with a rank of Lieutenant Commander (LCDR/DC/USNR). He then returned to the Pacific Northwest to set up his Family Dental Practice in Redmond, Washington. In 2006, the practice relocated just one mile away to this current Bellevue location (allowing for patients with limited and wheel chair accessibility better access to our office).
Dr. Cahoon delights in his family and his faith. He is married to his college sweetheart and has two fabulous sons and daughters-in-law, all of which are graduates of the University of Washington and big Husky fans. The wonderful addition of his two grandchildren brings great joy to the whole family.

Dr. Cahoon’s affiliations include the Seattle King County Dental Society, the Washington State Dental Association and the America Dental Association, as well as several local study clubs. He has also served as a delegate for the Washington State Dental Association.

Dr. Cahoon has been honored by his peers as a Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy (an honorary dental service organization) and a Fellow in the International College of Dentists (an international dental honor society).

Currently he teaches at the University of Washington Dental School as an affiliated Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry working with the 3rd and 4th year dental students on the clinic floor.
