After Care

Pineview Aesthetic & Family Dentistry provides dependable postoperative care after your operation. Whether you have undergone cosmetic or restorative dental procedure, you can count on our dentists and healthcare professionals to help you with recovery. We all do our best to help you heal fast and make sure your results last.

After Care for Cosmetic Reconstruction

Warm saltwater rinses are recommended to reduce pain and swelling. If pain becomes unbearable, take any over the counter pain medication every three to four hours.  If you play sports, we can create mouth guards you can wear. Given the circumstances, you may be advised to sit out any games for the next few weeks. Avoid eating smoking, drinking alcohol, and eating hard foods. These may compromise the quality and affect the results of your cosmetic dentistry procedure.

After Care for Crown and Bridge Appointments

Crowns and bridges normally take two or three sessions to complete.  After your first visit, you will be given temporary crowns to help you with your everyday activities. While you crown or bridge is being created, you need to take care of your temporary crowns. Avoid consuming hot beverages and hard or sticky food. Brush and floss regularly to keep them clean. If your crowns come off, contact us immediately. You should also do the same if there is any pain or unevenness to your bite.

After Care for Tooth Extraction

Take the prescribed pain medication and use cold compress to manage the pain after the extraction. Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, drinking through straws, or doing any strenuous activities to stop the bleeding. If pain and bleeding persists, get in touch with us right away. You should be able to resume your normal activities after a couple of days. Until then, do not do anything that may disrupt the healing process.

After Composite Fillings

Take the prescribed medication to alleviate the pain. Numbness or sensitivity to pressure and hot and cold food is normal. If these sensations persist even after a few days have passed, get in touch with us. We will provide you with fast relief and effective treatment to help you recover easily.
